Executive advisory

A steady partner for complex terrain — governance, vendors, capability building, and the hard calls that don’t fit a template.

Who is this for?

CEOs and managing partners of mid-market firms who do not want — and do not need — a full-time Chief AI Officer, but who do need senior counsel on AI-shaped decisions on a known cadence. Most relationships start at one or two sessions per month.

How is this different from a board advisor?

Board advisors meet quarterly and operate at the strategic horizon. Executive advisory operates at the cadence of operating decisions — a vendor escalation this week, a capability hire next month, an investment committee prep next quarter. We sit closer to the work.

Can this convert into delivery work?

Yes — and it often does. The advisory relationship is the ground state; specific delivery engagements are scoped and run alongside it when the work calls for it.

Frequently asked

Is this the same as a fractional Chief AI Officer?
Functionally yes. The Executive Advisory engagement is the shape most firms describe when they say ‘fractional Chief AI Officer’ — a senior partner on a recurring rhythm, available for the decisions and escalations that arise between sessions.
How long do these relationships last?
Most run 12–24 months and renew. We do not chase length for its own sake — when the firm’s internal capability has matured to the point where the relationship is no longer load-bearing, we say so.
